Stan 11-20-1999, 04:55 AM Yep, I like www.webopedia.com (http://www.webopedia.com) . Very good knowledge base. Stan quietinthecorner 11-20-1999, 10:34 PM Thanks for the good site,CMonster CMonster 11-21-1999, 11:45 AM quiet~1, You are welcome. I mainly put this post up because I have been hearing so much bad information on AGP verses PCI in the video card wars. Recently a couple of gamers at a computer store (Fry's) were trying to convince me, and another customer, that a PCI video card was "every bit as fast as an AGP" and that the purpose of the AGP was that it "freed up another slot," pu-hahaha! /forum/biggrin.gif ...most of the baords I've seen have major problems if you put anything in the PCI slot next to the AGP. Furthermore, I think that 66(+)mhz(AGP) is better than 33mhz(PCI), also if you think 133MBps (PCI) is as good as 266/533MBps (AGP 1&2x)you must be a little bad at math. Now I must admit, the $59 16MB Voodoo Banshe that I just stuck in an older PCI mobo did bring the gaming up to a very acceptable level (and some of those games don't play any better on my AGP systems), but I think that this is because the games are kind of "maxed out" in terms of what the programers put in to start with. The worst part was that I couldn't get a word in edgewise, and the other customer walked out thinking these idiots were right. Chainsaw 11-21-1999, 01:31 PM Thanks for the link CMONSTER, Now if we could just find someone to write a SoftAGP (kind of like SoftFSB) to change this mobo AGP thruput from 2X to 4X (I'm dreamin')we'd have it made.
