I've tried ps2rate.exe to change my mouse refresh rate on my serial mouse but it doesn't work. My ps/2 mouse port suddenly stopped working(ACPI problem) so now I'm stuck with a serial mouse. the refresh rate on this serial mouse sucks and gives me headaches in first person games. so either I go with usb or I change the refresh rate on a serial mouse(some have told me this isn't possible).

I wasn't aware that you can change the refresh rate on a mouse. Why would you want to?

If you want a good USB mouse you can try the Kensington Mouse in a Box with scroll wheel. You can find them for $17. I bought a second one not too long ago.

I just picked up some USB mice really really cheap off the net. Wholesale places such as http://www.computersurplusoutlet.com has awesome deals on all sorts of things, but shipping is sort of high, so a big order it better, but I picked up a couple Logitech USB mice with scroll wheels for 10 bucks each!!! These are 30 dollar mice, and the only thing about them is that they are OEM, and say monorail on them, Also, if one can wait for a rebate, www.cyberrebates.com (http://www.cyberrebates.com) has Dexxa wheelmice for FREE after rebate...Hheh
