how to do away with shortcut names?

You know the text that says what the icon opens....how do I get rid of them? Ha, I know what they are, I don't need the text.

oh, one more shortcut question. I like to have my game shortcuts along the top of the screen....but they always go back after a reboot...can I make them stay somehow?

To get the Icons to stay were you place them make sure that in your desktop property's you dont have "auto arrange" check marked. as to getting rid of the names you can use 3rd party utlitys to that. Hit download.com (http://www.download.com) and do a search for ICON utility's. (I dont have many icons on my desktop so the few that I do I dont mind the name being there)

Dear Seti:

You can hide ALL YOUR ICONS very simply. Right Click on your desktop. Go to Properties, Effects. Click the "hide icons" box. Then use a nice wallpaper for your desktop. You can also go to Start, Taskbar and Advanced settings. Put your shortcuts on the Start bar. Very convenient and neat, with no icons on desktop /forum/smile.gif
