I was on at 4pm Pacific, live from Comdex. Anybody see? Sharky was also the show today, he's a nice fellow.

BooHooHoo! /forum/frown.gif Since ZDTV doesn't run on cable here and I don't have satellite, I guess I'll have to bribe someone for a copy of the vid, right??? /forum/wink.gif (JK folks...)

So, how did it go? What products did you present? Truly sorry I couldn't be there in person.

It should air again tonight at 9pm Pacific. The products I talked about were:

-Quake3 Demo Test (briefly, just mentioned new features, I'm not sure why they wanted me to talk about it, SysOpt doesn't cover gaming but for some reason they wanted me to)

-Promise Technology UltraTrak IDE RAID Case; pretty awesome unit featuring 8 drive bays, ATA/66 capability, built-in RAID board based on the RISC i960 w/ 128MB of cache, UltraWide SCSI interface (any OS will see the unit as a single SCSI drive), redundant power supplies, plus RAID 1, 0+1, 3 and 5. $1495 for the chassis ready to go, just add drives, shipping February.

-ATI Rage Fury Maxx.. Basically a 2d/3d combo card featuring two Rage 128 Pro chips which share the task of processing frames. While one is processing one frame, the other is processing another frame, simultaneously (somewhat analagous to the way SLI works, but quite superior to it). Thus, this card is faster in 3D tests than the GeForce256 and TNT2 Ultra. $269 retail, shipping in January

Also, if you watch the show, and see Sharky discussing the Voodoo4/5, note that although the Voodoo4 is about $200, ATI folks told me that Voodoo5 is about $650.

Yeah, I saw ya. /forum/wink.gif Of course, half the time I was taking pics, but you did do a fine job once they got off the Q3 kick. /forum/smile.gif

All ya'll will get to see Scott in all his glory from my viewpoint in a couple of days when I have time to import the images and lay it out. I'll finally be back home tomorrow afternoon once classes are over. I'm at my parents' house now, and I've got to drive from here straight to class 3 hours away tomorrow morning. If I weren't so wired, I'd be sleeping right now. /forum/smile.gif

Well Scott, all I can say is: "Gee, I wish I had the smarts to start things like this when I was younger". You're making quite a name for yourself in the computer industry. So when are you going to start your own computer company? Should we start rooting for you now, or wait till you put Dell and Gateway outa business? /forum/wink.gif
Good luck in ALL your endevours [sp]. And don't forget us little people. (do you want my Xmas wish list now or later???)

Mntsnow, Thanks for the kind offer! /forum/smile.gif

Apostle 83, I think Mntsnow's ok - I'm not a deer so I should be alright. /forum/biggrin.gif

Joel, will be looking forward to your layout, especially Scott's segment on the vidcard and Promise. Hope you both had a good flight back.
