I just bought a new asus p3v4x and discovered a problem. No matter what I do, the motherboard will not boot off of my Wester Digital ac310100b hard drive. I have checked all the cables, jumper settings, entered the drive specs maunally, kicked the computer violently and anything else I could think of. Nothing seems to work. The drive is detected in the BIOS but I always get a "master disk fails" message on boot up. The interesting thing is that I tried my hard drive in another computer and it worked fine and I even tried another hard drive in my computer and what do you know...it boots up just fine. So it seems there is some issue with the motherboard and this peticular hard drive. Any ideas?
