Amptron mobo's???

You are probably looking at the 585b lmr. It works pretty good although a little tough (for me) to get up and running. It is not the fastest board around but if your money is really limited it is a good board for the dollars. If you decide to get one be sure and order the PS2 riser card for it $5.00 if you dont you will have to use a serial mouse thus giving up the serial port. The other really bad thing about these boards they steal 8 megs of your memory for the Video as the onboard video has no memory of its own. The modem is not bad they will hook up at 48 on a good tel line. It is of course a PCI modem that uses the CPU for itself. I have build 6 systems with this board and only 1 of the boards were DOA. One good thing is that the CD that comes with the MOBO had the full version of Corel Word Perfect suite 8, worth some bucks by itself.

Has anybody heard of/used amptron mobos. Are they any good? I'm specifically looking at the one with integrated sound, vid, modem, nic.
