I lost my soundblaster cd so I downloaded both the new 3.0 livewire and lava from the soundblaster site.
The livewire install seemed to go fine. When I ran the diagnostics all music types played execpt for my cd.
I then installed lava. It notified me that I had to have "xdriver6.1 or above". Not being sure, I exited the install and went to the Microsoft site and downloaded xdriver7.0a and installed (no problems here)
I then rebooted, reinstalled livewire and attempted to install Lava. While loading files, the installation seemed to hang at about 10%. An error message eventually came up which stated that there was an error with ctplayer.
The installation completed, but the ctplayer.exe does not exist and the cd player doesn't work EXCEPT in diagnostic mode.
Anyone have any ideas. I am not a PC guru, so please keep any responses as simple as possible. THX
