Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of a keg? (half barrel size)

No I don't... I'm just wondering if this is the place to be talking about illegal activities ( I assume you are underage or you wouldn't be so excited about a keg.)

Sorry to touch a nerve Apostle. I was kinda making a joke. Maybe this'll set your mind at ease.

Rest assured, I am 22 (even though it isn't illegal to talk about kegs when you are underage. but that's another issue). The guys I live with and I are planning on making a kegerator and we don't have a keg to measure onhand. We are lazy and couldn't find the answer online. Some of the smartest people in the country hang out at this board, someone here is bound to know. Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on the subject /forum/smile.gif

c'mon apostle, is that really necessary???

i've seen some serious conclusions being jumped to lately when there is really no reason to be getting antsy. Take for example the thing with Gene C. in the User to User Biz section. I'd just wish that if you don't have the answer to the question, don't worry about it. This bbs has three very capable administrators in Scott, Kleppinger, and SocalGal so i'd just leave all this kind of stuff to them. I'm not ragging just on you Apostle because i've seen a lot of it going on lately, i know that you make a lot of very helpful suggestions in the computer tech support area. So let's just leave the administrative work to the administrators and stick to what we do best, fixing computers.

If you are dealing with butts, hogsheads and firkins go here /forum/wink.gif
This page has a very good calculator for volume conversion. Don't get Imperial and US gallons mixed up /forum/smile.gif

Otherwise, to quote an online retailer,

Beer Kegs can be a fun and an economical alternative. Standard Keg sizes are 59L (14 dz) and 30L (7 dz). Refundable deposit on empty Keg and the pump is $60. We carry many Keg brands in stock; however, advance booking of 3 to 5 days is recommended. Typical savings with Kegs is 20% over bottles or cans.

Url is unimportant - Wouldn't like to advocate drink to minors, frat parties or family BBQs /forum/wink.gif
