Looks good, about the only thing I couls sugjest beter (other than of course ram) would be a BP6, it has a built in ATA/66 card, about the same price as the BM6 and a Promise card, and you can always go duel later.

KillerBug, since you seem to deem it necessary to suggest changes to Gradius's config after the fact (perhaps he already had the Promise card anyway) and this is the latest in the long line of them, I'm gonna point out something that has bugged me for many months.
DUAL CPUs - not "duel," but DU-A-L.. D-U-A-L. Dual CPUs.
"duel" - to fight between two or more
"dual" - two similar or identical things
DUAL CPUS
Now get it straight. /forum/smile.gif

Well!, He COULD go duel later, go slap someone in face with a glove. But now he has a new comp, why the heck would he go get himself killed =), just killerbugs statement mightve intended how it was spelled =)

Some of us where kicked out of high school for firing bottle rockets at peace loving, PETA picketers, protesting our schools use of live pigs* for dissection in biology.
Being both a junior member and uneducated, I appreciate it when those who actually attended school display their respective skills in the usage of the English language.
Regards to All,
Zotz Mein
*Please note: these pigs where not alive at the time of the protest however they where killed on premise.
Had the classes’ intent been to operate on these animals while alive, I would have used the more appropriate term, vivisection.
Vivisection: the practice of operating on living animals in order to gain knowledge of pathological or physiological processes.

oxOGradiusOxo - Congratulations on finally getting your super computer completed!

Aw common Joel, You misspelled a word in your post. most posts will have a misspelling some where or the wrong word where-ware. including mine, it can be even the keyboard. hit wrong key. I do it to. in my case I'm to old to know better /forum/smile.gif

Alondra: I'm curious to know what word you think I misspelled. I looked it over and couldn't see any so I copy/pasted it into Word 97 and there were no spelling probs (that's shorthand, not a misspelling), tho it didn't like the word "config" for some reason.
Regardless, it isn't because of this one misspelling I decided to take out any frustration I might have suffered during the day (which, by the way, I've had a great week, ok, two weeks /forum/smile.gif). Rather, it's because KillerBug felt it was necessary to constantly suggest "improvements" without thinking through their implications.
By no means is this the first time he has done this (not to mention the # of times he's spelled "duel" - in fact, I've never seen him spell it right). It just got to me how he just couldn't congradulate a guy after the fact rather than trying to poke holes in his config. I'm sure there was no guile intended by KB - I merely felt he should feel a little of what Gradius might feel.
In other words, I didn't just "blow up" at KB just for the heck of it. I don't get off "putting other people in their place." I just get sick of it "high-minded" people at times, especially when they can't even get their story out straight.
Oh, and it might be interesting to search the forum for "duel." It's not like he just made a mistake this once or even a couple previous times. I daresay KB/cobain1crt (same guy) has approx. 200 posts with the word used to mean "dual." I hope this one was his last. He certainly won't have any excuses. /forum/smile.gif
Oh, and FWIW, I never use a spell-check on my posts, and rarely review them before posting. What you see is what you get. =) If you find an error, Congratulations. /forum/smile.gif
And KillerBug/cobain1crt, I still love ya. /forum/smile.gif (just a more reserved you would be nice)

Hi Joel the word is "sentence" /forum/smile.gif but any way I agree that "Congratulations" were in order instead of a "critique" especialy when we see what this guy has gone thru to get there, among other things the "Ram" deal. and after a while "dual" should not be misspelled. after all it is a simple word. (even for california students, well maybe not) By the way OX my congratulations also are in order. /forum/smile.gif /forum/smile.gif chainsaw. by the way the word is "bait"

Either that or not post at all /forum/frown.gif Which I don't feel is the answer.

Yea, if we only had a (built in) spell checker (I for one, shur could use it).
I have the same problem in Outlook Express 5.0, I don't have Word (I prefer WordPerfect), so therefore don't have a spell checker in Outlook. I tried a third party spell checker, but it expired after 30 days, yea, I was to cheap to buy it for 20 bucks. If anybody knows of a way to link the spell checker from WordPerfect so that I can use it in Outlook, I'd be most grateful.
Thanx,
chanesaw

p.s. Or knows of a good freeware program that will work to the same end.

wats evrybodees problem? I didnt see any spelling errers anywere. Pleaze help me find the mispelled werds. Thanks.
Hmmm, I usually can spot spelling errors a ways off, but that seems to have little value anymore. One of the funnier things for me is homonyms... like "duel" for "dual", spell checkers won't get those!

in reality. I think the meat of the posts are much more important than spelling or grammar, mine or anyone elses. if I can understand it, that is all that is important /forum/smile.gif and I have learned a great deal from these posts.
Nooooo! Don't use a spell checker!!!!
I like my colour and honour with a 'U'!!!!
I also like to visualise with an 'S'!
