Adaptec EasyCD Creator4 will accomplish this task.
Go to napster.com and mp3.com to find if any free utilities exist (I'm sure they do).
Check download.com and shareware.com, they may be of interest also.

It can rip cda and convert to MP3 with just the click of a button and it also lets your write directly to CDR.
It's free and fully functional.
It also retrieves track names from the net without and names your MP3's the way you want them withought you lifting a finger.
