SERIOUSLY odd crash...

I moved house a couple of days ago bringing my perfectly healthy PC with me. I plugged it in, wired it up, turned it on and then the following happened:

- The fans turned...
- The hard drives powered up
- Then....nothing! Kaput! No go....!

It just stopped. The monitor doesn't turn itself on, it just sits there mockingly in standby mode. I've tried everything I can think of. I took the motherboard back and got a new one...didn't make a difference. I took the the graphics card back and got a new one...still nothing. I've tried a friends CPU, hard disk drive and RAM...you guessed it...nothing! I checked all the cabling, I've tried it with various different PCI cards removed/in different sockets. I simply cannot figure this one out by myself....someone, please help before the whole system goes flying out of the window!

Try exchanging the power supply? Years ago one of mine displayed the same symptoms -- it was the CPU. But you tested that.

I was wondering about that. It's one of the few things that I can't test without buying a new component. It is strange that the power does come on though. Still, thanks for the suggestion. If nothing else turns up, I might try a new power supply.
