sounds like the faceplate was proprietary. You could cut out the molded face if you wanted, but it would give the case a less than professional look. You could try contacting the company that made the case and ask them where you could get a floppy for it.

thanks for the reply... i hit paydirt with my original idea....took floppy case off...and removed the drives faceplate....it slips right under the push button and the clear plastic drive on indicator in the case....it works!!!!!!!!

just got a nice PIA case at an auction..building a new system...the front has a premolded 3.5 drive face with a button and a small lens for the drive...question is.. i cant figure how to make a 3.5 fit in there since theres n way to pop out the molded drive front on the case.. i was trying to pull the front off the drive to see if that would allow the drive to sit close enough to the opening to allow disks to be inserted...but even if i could the outside button doesnt engage the drives button...HELP!!...its an awesome case except for this....any help appreciated!!
