Recently I have started having problems when trying to print anything. I try to print a page and the kernel usage goes to 100% and it will print a line of text and then sit there for about thirty seconds between each line. It takes ages to print a simple document. As far as I can tell nothing on the system has changed and no new software has been added. I'm using win98 SE and an HP Deskjet 820Cxi. Everything else on the machine still works fine. If anyone has any ideas they would
be greatfully recieved.
Thanks.

The only think that I can think of is to check for IRQ conflicts, check that the printer port setting is correct (ECP?) and to reinstall the printer driver.

There are no conflicts and the port is in ECP mode. I also tried reinstalling the drivers but it didn't help. As I said this has started recently and nothing has changed on the machine as far as I'm aware. Any other ideas.
