Hi I've an Asus P5A and a K6II-400.
My ATX power give 3.3v max.
<<<
I overclock the cpu to 495MHz(100*5x)and at the normal voltage of 2.2v nothing appens.
<<<
At 2.4 there's a boot but Wn98 say me "Protection error"
<<<
At 2.6 all works but certain application crash or give errors
<<<
At 2.8 all WELL!
<<<
I try also to set the bus to 120(with cpu at 5x=600MHz)-->First power-on=no boot but fans and drives work
<<<
So I increase the core voltage(I'm CRAZY!!)to 3.5v and the system dead forever
<<<
For all tentatives I turn off the system work directly with the alimentation cable because the switch doesn't work
<<<
At the end of this bad work touching the cables and port(like com or parallel)I have an elettric shock.
<<<
What is dead?
The CPU?
The MB?
ALL
The power supply?

Please I need your help

Try swapping out the power supply.

Most likely the cpu is dead. The mainboard and the rest of the components were made to do that sort of stress (but the cpu was not, hence overclocking) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I'd swap out the cpu and go from there (there could be other problems). But that's where i'd start http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I'd say that increasing the core to 3.5v shorted out the cpu with the same VIO and VCORE plane of something
