Hi,
I need someone to help me out of this serious problem. Sometimes when I select shutdown from Windows 98 I have a problem.
First of all, itt shuts windows down correctly and shuts off the power as you
would expect, but then I cannot repower the unit without unplugging the power for about a minute. It doesnt happen all the time!

I really need help!

Do you have the shutdown fix from microsoft on your machine? If not that is a good place to start. If the problem is still happening after that then I would be tempted to reset the bios to its defaults and then customize it only as far as you require to have the machine boot and run. Then test it. You should also ensure that you have the most current bios. You might want to post some motherboard / bios details to see if someone else on this forum has overcome the problem.

Does it run antivirus on some drives when you turn it off? Mine used too, and it would cause it too hang similiar to what yours is doing. You might want to check that.
