llo all i have a back up sound card which uses a yamaha xg chip but i dont know what make and drivers to use and it does not say the model name on the card how can i find this out?

Look on the chipset itself, and see if there are any numbers like the ones I described above. Then go to winfiles.com and look up yamaha. its a little confusing at their site, cause they sell stuff other than computers. The puter stuff is on the left, near the top (was last week) If memory serves... the drivers are to be installed AFTER windows loads. so if windoze autodetects em (plug and pray) dont let it, just hit enter,enter,enter or ok, ok, ok. what you want is for the sound card to be listed as an unknown device. Then run the yamaha install prog. HTH SysOpt.com
