can someone help me with this. i can set the clock and later on it can be way of it's time.

It sounds like your CMOS battery is going out. I had the same problem with a 486 MB even after battery changes, so I installed SocketWatch (http://www.locutusware.com) which corrects the time when logged on to the internet.
