I have Promise Ultra66 card and installed it yesterday. Now the booting time of the system is amazingly slow. It boots ok, but time it takes to see my wall paper is just not acceptable. Is there something wrong with compatibility? how can I compromise this problem?
Also, does anyone know how to install Win2000 in ultra66? system hangs during install.
What's going on with this famous card??

I have the same card, and I have had problems as well. I read that it may be that it doesn't like bus speeds higher than 66mhz. I may be wrong but since I took mine back out the problems stopped. I am running an AMDK6 266@300 w\66mhz bus clocked to 75. Got the Promise page and check it out.
I run mine with 133MHz FSB/ 44MHz PCI
You probably have resource issues. read This (http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum2/HTML/006913.html)

Thank you guys for your inputs.
I noticed my IRQ 9 is shared by 10 devices including ultra. How can I change the resource or IRQ settings? Win 2000 is just drying my patience with Ultra 66 card. Will the software allow me to change IRQ and resource settings? My CMOS only allows to me change the selection of legacy ISA or PNP PCI....what the???
