My brother in law is looking for a portable unit that can be connected using USB for his system and two laptops.
I see that Iomega has the USB Zip 250.
Anyone have personal experiences with any?
Thanks /forum/smile.gif

I have a 100MB external iomega drive, it's about 2 1/2 to 3 years old, but has extremely little use during that time. I really liked it until lately when it started experiencing the "click of death" syndrome and it ain't pretty. I now have a useless drive, which I may be able to get replaced, but only with a great deal of effort on my part. I don't know if its fair condemning all iomega’s because of this, but I personally would not recommend one after my experience with them. In all fairness, I don't know which of the iomega’s are experiencing the "click of death", but here is a link that explains the whole thing.
Good luck in your pursuit

Susan: I have the Iomega 100mb USB Zip Drive
and I love it. Put _all_ my downloads and if Norton doesn't scan them I have the option to virus scan the whole drive before putting on my harddrive. You can put lots of documents on one disc and as long as the other computer
has USB, you take it with you . Beats a whole box of floppies! You can catch the discs on sale, I use 'Verbatim'. They're a little cheaper than he ZIP brand but work just as good. /forum/smile.gif

Sorry, I don't have any USB removables to give info on.
You may want to consider the Castlewood ORB. Uses 2.2Gig discs compared the Zip's 250MB ones. Their 2.2g media is about $30 retail, much cheaper than buying nine 250MB or twelve 100MB Zips.
I believe the drives are priced the same too.
