I P address seccurity problem:any help

is there any way to block my ip address so other people cant see or get it?
or is it as simple as turnning off cockies?

First,lets see if you have any blocks/firewalls set up by your IP or your browser.I found this test in the tech section of Sundays paper(Atlanta Journal).Go to:grc.com, click on "SpinRite5",then click on "Shields Up". Download the file then run it with your IP connection still on.After the test,read the text.It will probably answer a lot of your questions.
