Hello helpfull people!
I have a Dell Dimension XPS T450. I asked Dell if I could slap in a copper 600E on my Intel 440BX AGPset board. They said they would not help because I didn't buy it that way. Pooie on them! All I know is that I have a 9 month old BX board and that the multiplier and the core voltage is diff. between the 450 and the 600E CPU. I'm not worried about overclocking yet. I first need to know if I can put the 600E on my BX and what info. I need to know before I buy the new CPU. Can any one help? Jill

Can you take a look at the M/B and tell what brand it is? Does Dell use thier own board? If you can get a manufacture name off the board, try to get some info from thier web site. I have an old bh6 with the 440 bx chipset and after applying the latest bios, it supports that cpu, so you should be able to also.

Hope this helps...good luck.

OK. Since my first post I've found out that Dell uses the same BX board on there 800 MHz CPUs. They have a BOIS update for mine to support coppers, and no jumpers they said it's in the BOIS. Dell wont tell me to much because they would rather I buy a new PC. Does this sound like the new BOIS will take care of things like voltage differences since there are no jumpers? Am I good to go or am I missing any thing? Thanks, Jill
