Hey everyone,
see if you can help me out with this one. This has been bugging me for a while and at this point, my SCSI cd burner is non functional. I am running W2k on a pIII 450 machine with 128 MB RAM. I installed the proper drivers and it is recognised by the system.
I cannot 'rip' audio cds, when i try to burn a cd, it says ASPI failure, and the cd is ruined. (easy CD creator 4) The SCSI card is adaptec and the burner is internal.
Any advice on trouble shooting or what can cause these problems?

Thanks in advance

Can you read from the drive?

Are you able to burn data cds? When you are trying to burn audio cds, are you copying them from another cd, or are you trying to burn it from an mp3?

I can read from the drive, although i never set it up internally to play audio.
When i attempted to burn a CD I took it directly from mp3 files (origionally from a cd) on my hard drive. Even with direct WAV to cd I get ASPI failure burning. Also i have not been able to burn data at any speed. (8x drive)
thanks for any help!

you might start at the adaptec web site. look for win2k updates for ezcd creator and adaptec scsi adapter bios. the drive itself may need a firmware update to work with win2k. good luck.
