Computer Takes forever to Boot

My pc takes forever to boot up, it get to that screen where it says varifying DMI pool data and sits there for ever then brings up the win98 screen takes forever there too. My old ****ty p150 boots up quicker than mine.

Intel 16 network card
Win98 2nd ver.

I thought it may be my network card but my old computer has one and it boots up real quick.

What is your reasoning for having a Voodoo2 card in your system? Do you play a lot of Glide based games?

Your system should be quick as hell. I would double check to see if all your internal and external caches are enabled.

I've also heard that giving your network card a static address helps as well.

I would definitely take out the network card and work my way to the other cards.
