I hear that GeForces don't work on Athlon motherboards.

I would go for at least a 13 gig hard drive. It isn't that much more than the 10 gig and gives you a decent amount of more hard drive space. /forum/smile.gif But it's just my oppion. But if you don't have the money then I guess you can't. I know what it's like wanting to get more but not being able to. It sucks. /forum/frown.gif

Hey, I would throw a firewire card on there with two external and two internal connections... in the future, were gonna see mostly USB 2(which hasn't been released yet) and firewire connections, as they allow better cooling inside the case, and have higher transfer rates... Some advanced SCSI's might make it, but hey, you gotta ask which is gonna be more prevalent, making it cheaper.

It seams to me that you want the newest types of processors, which is why you chose the Athlon. Take the Intel Coppermine instead. You can (currently) get it up to 733mhz. They are planing on introducing 800mhz by the end of the year and 1000mhz by spring of next year.

If you want performance, buy a Promise FastTrack66 RAID IDE controller with 2 (or more) IBM 22Gxp or 34Gxp series (2Mb cache, 7200rpm).
Build a RAID0 array and watch your PC flying !!!

i'd say that it costs to much...I guess that your baseing the cost rise on the cooler-right? well yeah i can see that ok but i would say no more than 2300 maybe 2400 go to somewhere like dell that has an online config thing make a similar one and add some for what ever you think that cooler might cost

You don't need an ATA/66 controller, all K7 mobos come with them onboard as standard.
