Everyone,

Very recently, I received a message from Welsh Wizard's wife saying that he had a stroke and was basically immobile /forum/frown.gif. He came out of a coma-like state on Monday. At first he was unable to move from his bed but since then "he has regained some use of his left side and is now showing the first signs of movement in his fingers on his right hand." Apparently, the doctor expects the major improvements to occur within the first two weeks after the stroke.

His wife gave me permission to tell you about this. I am sure it would mean a lot to him if the SysOpt regulars posted replies of encouragement here, if you're inclined to do so, so that they could be printed out for him.

Welsh Wizard: We ALL wish you a speedy and FULL recovery, and miss your presence in the SysOpt forum!

Hang in there. You have A long road ahead of you. I have known others that have been in worse conditions and have pulled through such harsh tragedies and am sure that they would encourage you that it is well worth the hardship in the end to keep pulling through as well as I do and can only hold such people that do pull through that sort of tradegy in the highest respect. I hope you get well as swiftly as your heart desires and only could imagine what type of iron will and love you must have to pull through it. All my support is with you. I hope you are able to pull through this as soon as possible, and wish only the best!

To All
My Dad is coming along quite well at the moment, movement coming back to right hand can now use index and inner finger makes up for his garbled speech ( which turns out to be Welsh, something he always refused to use, always said that if it wasn't for the pretenter Welsh would have faded inti history) we are hoping that his command of English will return soon the Doc is now reasonably sure it will, as for keyboard tossing in the near future we will have to weight and see, And as for mum she's handling it well, I think she got a bit of practice two years ago when dad had his first at 49, but that one wasn't as hard hitting as this time and he refused to stop working during his recovery that time. Dad alway said in his words of mum "our lass , she's 24 carat gold." just shows how right he was.
To ALL OF YOU AT SYSOPT THANKS FROM THE EVANS CLAN your post I am sure are helping dad on his recovery,

( as for the RWC perhaps its a good thing he's not totally with it, just saw the appalling ref of the W/A match thats if they didn't linch him at the Park afterwards, that would have made matters worse if he had been watching that game.)

Thought you might like some good news, Dads now speeking in English, a bit erratic but understandable, and is now able to move all fingers in right hand, though complains of pins and needles and areas of numbness, the Doc has sead we can allow him up to sit in an arm chair tomorrow but no computer or work which from his expression started to raise his blood pressure! as I know he wanted to leave a message of thanks for the support from Sysopt members and staff, looks like the hardest thing is going to be making him take it easy, at least there are :-) in the house again.

TO Scott and all you wonderful people at Sysopt, I wish to express my deepest thanks for your prayers and support at this time. John I know has a long way to go before all will be well, but at least he is now able to talk with us and is showing improvement daily, he's is already complaining he wants to get back to work as he can't stand having to put up with the soaps they put on the box during the day.( he has sead he knows of 3 or 4 keyboards that are faulty in stock and will try to see how far he can chuck them soon, but wants to know is he allowed to use the cable to swing it or has he got to throw it from the board it self.
All the best from the Evans clan to all at Sysopt and thank you once again for all of your support, best wishes and prayers, And I'' let you know how is is coming on.
Love to you all.
Kathy.

Hi Kathy, and Daniel too /forum/smile.gif

It is so heartening to hear that John (aka Mr. W. Wizard) is progressing and improving on a daily basis! This is good news to all of us, and so good of you to post and keep us updated. We continue to keep John, and you - his family, in our thoughts and prayers.

I haven't thrown any keyboards around lately, so I guess Nathan G. will have to get back with you on that /forum/smile.gif

Take good care, and thank you for sharing with us. God bless.

WW and Family,
Glad to hear things are improving with the Wizard... /forum/smile.gif
According to International Keyboard Tossing Guidlines: Whirling/Spinning by the cord is allowed. However,Great skill/care must be taken when using this "Whirly" method,as release timing becomes VERY critical. (particularly to people and ojects located behind or to the side of you) It is also wise not to "OverG" the unit during spinup or the cord may snap! For these reasons,This practice is recommended for advanced users only! (MCSE etc. or above)
You must subtract the "stretched" distance of the cord from you Final distance AND you forfeit the extra keycap points mentioned below.
KEYCAP POINTS- competitors that use the "Brute Force" method of tossing are allowed to add an additional 1" to distance for Each keycap that falls off on impact. HEHE ,ok i need to get out more .....Happy Tossing /forum/smile.gif

hello all
I am sorry for not bringing you all up to date but events since my last update were not the easest to deal with,
John went doen hill badly just after my last post, MRI scan showed that he had had a further stroke but all is now under control, he is mobil in a battery powered wheel chair but the doctors will not allow him to use computer just yet, and they are keeping a close watch on him, if he get to active we just take his battery away.
I know he wants to try and get back into things but the doctors are insisting on him take it easy, something that is not going down well with him.
All my love to you all
Kathy.
