Games to dark to play with Voodoo 3 3000

I have tried all of the drivers beta and offical, turned the brightness all the way up on my monitor and made the gamma setting the highest it can get but still cannot play any games(quake thief2 etc.) because they are way way to dark. My destop however is perfectly normal. Any ideas? thanks.

You've gone to.....
Display Settings, Setup, Advanced, 3dfx tweaks to try changing the gamma settings, correct?

Yup did that said so in the first post (gamma set to the highest) Thanks though. Its fixed I used powerstrip and turned the gamma to insanely high level with that. I cant see my desktop but the games look good. I just need to turn it off to use 2d programs.

If i where you i don't think i'd settle for that fix, if the cards still under warranty have it changed. I use the same card with no probs (Theif 2, UT) it could be a bad card.

perhaps it isn't the video card - but the monitor itself - what type of monitor do you have? I've got several voodoo cards running in different equipment and there's one monitor ( i think it's an EQ70 ) that's just dark no matter the settings or programs I run. kind of "trouble left here just fine" thing.....
