I think I've got some serious problems. I'm putting together a system, soyo sy-5ssm super 7 motherboard, k6-2 475, 64 meg generic dram, 5.1 gig wd hd, 44x generic cd-rom, and of course the trusty 1.44 floppy.
Problem is when I boot up, system reconizes everything...hd, floppy, cd-rom...and so on. Then when I put the boot disk in, it starts to read it fine....I select start with cd-rom surpport.....sometimes if finds the cd-rom to load the driver, sometimes it don't. It goes through several of the pci bus scans, then makes it to the microsoft ram drive version 3.06 virtual disk c and just quits(remember this is all off the boot disk). Sometimes it just quits on that screen, other times it clears the screen and leaves the cursor flashing in the upper left hand corner. The last time I tried to boot with the disk, it made it to the ram drive and actually restarted the computer.
I've made a new boot disk, tried it on another computer and it worked fine. What gives? Any ideas? First time I've ever not been able to make it to dos with a boot disk and I think I'm kinda scared...help!!!! Any suggestions? I've looked through the bios and not found anything out of the ordinary, of course I could be overlooking something.
