Hi Guys.

I have some stubborn programs that won't "remove" themselves from the add/remove list.

Is there a program I can use to delete it from the list, remove the directory of it's files, and its associated *.DLL files too? Preferably FREEware?

A program called System Mechanic may do what you want, I haven't used it much. It's available at www.tucows.com (http://www.tucows.com)

You can try Window Washer, I downloaded it but never got around to using it. The Kim Kommando show(a computer help radio show) recommends it. You can find it at http://www.webroot.com

I know how annoying it is to have things "floating" around!

Easy. If you have W95 or W98 just use TweakUI to remove them from the list. Since W98SE doesn't have TweakUI, I can't help if that's what you're running...

here is where the Add/Remove Programs list is stored in the Registry. If you're familiar with editing the Registry just remove them...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

Use TweakUI on the win98 disk (Not SE)
It will get rid of the program names that are left in the add/remove box

I've successfully installed TweakUI by right clicking the *.inf file inside the folder off the WIN98 CD.

So now, how do I use it? It's not on the Start Menu anywhere.

TweakUI is installed in the Control Panel. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You will see a new icon in the control panel called 'TweakUI'
