yes, they did make a 450 K6-3 but i was discontinued for awhile, because now they have the mobile K6-3 and K6-2+ processors, no, if you OC your computer, it will just make the speed of communication between the CPU and AGP i think, but i'm shure will not make the frame-rate faster, you will need to get a better video card for that. The FPU (Floating Point Unit) is your Co-Processor, it is what does all the calculations, the better it is, the faster mathematic calculations are made, and they also control MMX. Such as the 3Dnow!! Technology AMD has. AMD has the best FPU. Well, of what i've seen. I do not know what you are talk about, when it comes to the modem-ring.
I don't believe a faster CPU would help you get a faster frame rate in games, overclocking the FSB will give you a faster frame rate, but as wtp has suggested you would be better off, disabling your onboard video and getting a better video card. The reason that you can't get the "wake on ring" function to work that is in your BIOS, is because this will only work with an external modem (I'm not sure but I believe only one that is connected to a serial port, I don't think an external USB modem allows this option to work)

I'm not certain but I think what they mean by high ring and low ring is the tone of the ring.
