I just got a new case(19inch atx)
Had a 15 inch at case before
Since I changed everything over my processor(AMD 500) is running 5 degrees C higher
I have proper cooling(3 case,1 processor,1 video card fans)
Does it have something to do with the power supply????

Could have something to do with the power supply. Especially if the ps fan on your new case is either blowing air into the case, or is not as powerful as the one on your old system. Otherwise, I don't see it being a factor.

Could also be that your new case isn't as well ventilated as the old one, or doesn't allow for as clean a flow for air as your previous case.

This even happens with the cover off the case. Case temp is lower but processor has gone up.
Just got me baffled with all the same things inside.
I have checked everything over twice(even jumpers to make sure).

You might want to make sure that your heat-sync didn't shift position on the CPU when you did the switch-out.

Could be too that your thermal paste has dried out some over time, and moving the motherboard to another case just happened to break loose the dried paste so that its no longer providing the heat transfer it once did. Remove the heat-sync, re-apply some new thermal paste, and see if it returns to its old temp readings.

Another thing may be the height of the mounting screws/stand-offs If you have less air-space between the board and the mounting frame, that might account for less circulation behind the board and the higher temperature.

Any chance you can remove everything again and "adjust" the case with a drill to allow more air to the back of the board. Without getting too close to the edge or any of the mounting points, drill a few extra holes in the case frame - that and what Target said about re-applying some thermal paste is probably your best bet.

good luck

Thanks all for your help
Found out the problem. Seems with the new case the fan in front is further from the processor(what a difference 2 inches makes lol).Just moved the fan forward and dropped temp by 5 degrees.
Thanks again
