I didn't even read the whole thing, and I'm angered. They should all be driven out of a small South Carolina town on a "king james donkey," after their armpits have been infested by the fleas of a thousand camels.

I think Orwell must have got it wrong. Big brother is the corporations, not the government. With the politicians getting most of their money from businesses instead of individuals, can the corporate state be realy that far off?

Unfortunately Prospero, it's already here:

Look at the corporate sponsorship of political parties, the lobbying of corporate-aligned interest groups, and the directorships held by serving politicians and civil servants.

What's the biggest thing that affects any Western democracy outside of an act of war? U.S. interest rates. 'Nuff said.

Time to break out those Noam Chomsky papers from the college years...

Why would you use Real Player? Windows Media player is free, faster (as it is integrated to windows anyway), and sounds better, not that I am saying M$ does not do this, but at least they have not gotten in trouble for doing it.

When I got my computer, I figured as soon as I got connected, "THEY" would know who, what and where I was. And frankly as Rhett Butler said, " Frankly , my dear, I don't give a ****" I don't put anything over the net I won't back up or be ashamed of. I feel that if nobody likes what you have to say, they can either tune out or kiss off. The only thing that really matters is the rip dudes
trying to get your credit card number and enrich themselves. Man , this is the USA and
as citizens on or off the net were entightled
to our opinions as long as we don't infringe on someone else's space. As my mother use to
say, " If you don't like it,lump it"

the pickel

I'm safe,I'm safe but from whom ( who?)
Can "THEY" control my netcam remotely without my knowledge. Glad it's USB so I can unplug it when I'M online /forum/biggrin.gif

Pickel I agree 100%, you are entitled to your own opinions. Unfortunately, other people also want to be entitled to your opinions. I think that's the issue in a nutshell. /forum/smile.gif

I don't use realjuke box but I do use musicmatch jukebox does musicmatch also send my database of music back to their headquarters. personally if they ask for the info i'd tell them but they're just being decieving and I don't like that one BIT. also as diamond proved to me when they won their mp3 suit against the music makers that downloading mp3's and listening to them is legal (or at least this is my understanding). I might have misunderstood this verdict and maybe my large mp3 music library is illegal( i think it's perfectly legal). so should I be worried about this possible "illegal" library of mp3's. so I assume they do this with realplayer g2 too. I guess i'm gonna set windows media player as my default player now.

now I'm parnoid and I'm wondering if i should disable cookies altogether. this would be a pain since I'd have to remember to write down all my passwords at different site like this message board. what info can cookies actually take from my pc. and should I even update my windows and IE 5.0 since MS probably is taking info from my pc( I really don't care if they do as long as they're up front and honest about it, except for my copied version of flight simulator /forum/smile.gif). is MS gonna be pissed and could they find out that I copied their flight sim through the windows update and IE updates that I download.

"There should be a general strike by the secret services like Mossad and the CIA against all global terrorist conspiracies. The nerve gas attack against the Tokyo subway and the proliferation of nuclear materials to fundamentalist Islamic states and breakaway Soviet republics proves what is only inevitable - that a major terrorist attack on an economic, military or civilian target could be hours, rather than years away."

ooooo lookee at all those keywords! /forum/wink.gif
But I'm advocating law and order. How can that be? English is a wonderful language.
e.g. "All geeks must die" - is that a threat of violence, or a statement of mortality. Anyone see the pattern here?
