ICQ connection problem [Archive]

I have ICQ and it was working fine for a while and all of a sudden it wont connect anymore. Has anyone had this problem and did you fix it? Adding more ICQ servers didn't help. thanks

During the Daylight savings turnover, I couldnt connect to ICQ either..I dont think anyone could because when I finnally got back on at ~ 11 00 AM EST Sunday no one was on. This was for saturday..If you couldnt connect yesterday I dont know what the problem is, but keep in mind they do take it down at certain times for matenience (or so they want us to think /forum/smile.gif).
See if it works now...It should

I get that problem sometimes with icq as well. Could be their server is just full and won't allow anymore logons .

I've had the same problem. We have two computers running ICQ, two different users. Both worked fine until Friday afternoon. Computer 1 disconnected, and never was able to reconnect. User 1 can connect to the same account at home, but not here?!?! We tried to reinstall, but now it won't even register.

Computer 2 will connect to user 2's account, but not to user 1's account.

Wierd!?!?!

There must be something more technical to it then the server problem because It's been about 2 weeks since I was last able to get on. ICQ's message board has a lot of people with this problem but no one has any answers. I've tried reinstalling ICQ but that didn't help.

ICQ seems to have some "temper" about connecting. Try using putting several servers on the Preferences and it should make a connection in no time.

ive found that when i cant connect if i restart my pc it will usually connect right away when windoze starts up again. i dont know if this will work for you tho - and im sure you've tried this, considering its been 2 weeks....

If mine does it, i usually shut ICQ down then reboot it. That usually works. Here's another kicker. If you have it set as available and it wont connect... try going away or one of the others. it will usually connect then. Don't ask, i have no explanation.

What do you expect? AOHE!! owns ICQ now.
