Boy is that weird. Ok lets see. Since it stays closed after u reboot then that tells me that there is a driver problem. Is this a genric cdrom drive with a generic driver? Boy this one is a stumper. Hmmmm. Does Win95 see what is on the cdrom after u reboot? What about how u are pushing the cd-caddy back in are u using the button or just pushing? If u are using the button then there maybe a short some where. If u can give me a little feed back in these questions I might be a little more help. I have been trouble shooting computers for over 7 years now and this is a first. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I have an idea why don't u boot up in safe mode and eject the cdrom drive then close it again. This will tell us wether or not it is one of 2 things, the driver or windows. Because in safe mode windows won't load the cdrom drivers so it won't know tht anything was put in the cdrom. This will take out the possibility of it being the drive it-self. Ok get back to and I'll see what info I can dig up. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
