It is 80% faster than the average 50X Max CD-ROM drive available today.

It's transfer rate delivers 6.75MB to 10.8MB/sec. across the entire disc while running lower rotation speeds.

i have the 52X TrueX™ and love it.

I've been using the 42 TrueX. Starting to act up a bit. Has a difficult time recognizing couple audio CDs. It evenbtually does. Laser alignment probably.

Time for a new one? /forum/smile.gif

Hey Bleeder, /forum/smile.gif

I had the 42X originally and ran into probs with it also. Got a hold of Kenwood Tech and they replaced it for free with the 52x. See what ya can do.

sounds awesome I want one but what applications actually need that kind of speed.

isn't it better to go for one of the new generation 10X DVD drives. At least then you can watch movies too!!

I have a 52x too, figured it would be much faster at installing than my old 4x. However, we used that recently on the other 'puter and I'm not so sure it's really that much faster.
It is definitely quieter!

72x, eh? Thats blazing. But even with those kinda speeds, i'll just stick w/my 6x DVD for a while... CD's are about to get floppy disk syndrome.
