Hi All!

Here's one for you. A friend and I wer curious here... Can you add a say .mpg or .avi to an e-mail, say in the body? I know you can add it as an attachment, but can you s3eet it so when the e-mail is opened it begins playing?

Thanks in advance...

Mike P.

Yeah, good point Dave. I guess if you're enterprising enough - and good enough writing code, you can do anything, huh?

But then again, anti-virus auites are SOOO inexpensive now. Heck, from the way people talk, some of the "freebies" are actually worth having.

Anyway, thanks for the replies, I guess without any background in coding, I'll have to just settle for sending the attachment, and letting the recipient open it themselves.

Take care...

Actually, if you knew code, you could have a "run on open" link to the file you just sent as an attachment. If you knew the mal client they were using, you could make a very educated guess as to where the attachment was residing on their HD at the time they read their mail.

Or sumthin' like that!

HA!

You can go to Format, Background, and do images and sound. Not quite the same.
This is in OE5.

well grandslammer, best i can figure, use an html compliant mail program and have a hyperlink in the email to a url, streaming the mpeg file.
executing the file automatically "within" the email file,i dont know about that, That's a good question really, because OE5 has it's slide show feature for jpegs and stuff. it would make a nice feature for the email client,
there must be a way to do it somehow ,oh well,

I hope that it can't be done because if things could be set to "auto-run" like that, some people would use it to do some nasty things.
