You might try the following. I've had similiar problems and this helped.
Go to My Computer icon, right click and goto Properties. Select Performance tab and then click on Graphics. Move the slidebar to the left to slow down graphics acceleration. Move it all the way to the left, re-boot and the try the browsers. If they work, try moving it back to the right one click at a time until they no longer work and then back to the left one notch.
Let us know if this helps.

you could also try 98lite and remove IE and then reinstall and then remove netscape and go back to a version that worked for you...or you could spend 35 dollars and get opera and eliminate those hassles and fly trouble free...

Mykel; Do you have any other problems with other applications?? I had similar senerio, but kept losing other functions like cut and paste, go to and my IE browser corrupted, among other things. I had a real mess!!!!!
Wound up reformatting and reinstalling everything, before I found Sysops and it was having a brand new ,better computer. Just something to think about. Rots of Ruck /forum/biggrin.gif

Sounds like you the same conflict situation I had. Like I said a real mess. You might want to call your ISP and have them check your setup, configurations since both browsers are acting up. All it takes is one setting to be wrong to cause problems. Check
Device Manager for conflicts. Any new software? Think if you changed anything. If all else fails. format, reinstall windows adn your applications and maybe you'll be able to straighten it out. Maybe someone else has a good suggestion as my knowledge is quite limited. the pickel

pickel as a matter of fact sometimes I get the blue screen of death about a VXD file.. And on my netscape sometimes my mouse click gets disabled... I mean when I click on a link, it doesn't do anything.. I have to re-boot my system to enable it again.. Anybody got the same problem as I am?? And also sometimes, when my IE or Netscape crashes, the icon on my taskbar ( the one with the clock ) crashes too.. Help me out here pls.. Thanks..
Had similar problems with 4.6 in that it would lock on occasion and then if ctrl-alt-del to close it down it would leave an extra instance of itself. Would also disable link clicks which would only work if your rt clicked and selected open in new window. Upgraded to 4.7 after they fixed the dload problems (around middle of month) and have not had the same problems. IE5 apparently will not install correctly if there is ANYTHING running in the systray or tsr's such as virus software. Hope it helps.
