I have a epsonstylus440 color printer that I got off my brother but when I try to install the driver it says there is something wrong with my configuration and when I goto control panel it says there is a resource conflict code 15. My printer is connected to a scanner and then to the cpu. any advice besides maybe get a new printer

Sounds like IRQ problem to me. Have you tried reassigning IRQs from BIOS?

Epson's software for that printer will try to install their parallel port driver for you. It's looking for an ECP parallel port, so try setting your LPT port to that in the BIOS if your scanner will work with it. (You can also try going back to your normal parallel port; it often works, though the "High Speed" option in Epson's drivers will be disabled.)
