Is there a registry setting I can use to hide a drive in w98.

The computer is going out on loan and I want to hide some stuff from prying eyes.

Help please

You want to hide the whole drive? Why not just remove it. It is the only sure way they won't be able to see it. Another option is to disable the drive that you want to hide in the bios.

Why not just make all the files on that partition HIDDEN? Be sure to put a "DUMMY" file on it.

Then in Folder Options, make sure that SHOW ALL is not checked. But if you are still cautious, go up to SHAREWARE.COM (http://www.shareware.com) and get a free program to lock the files. Try File Password Protection or Password Protection or such...

You need a program like Ranish Partition Manager. This will let you hide the partition. Or if you got tweakui you can also set it so Windows explorer wont see the partition or drive.

Go to "download.com" and get "winboost2000". It's a tweaking program and there is an option that allows you to "hide" drives. I hid my godkid's backup files drive because his punk friends like to delete command.com's etc and I also made all the files "hidden" so if they do happen to find the drive, they won't see any files. Lucky they haven't figured it out yet! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Hope this helps.
