Hi

I have tried installing Windoze 98 on two HDD's i formatted. On one i get this message: The file "see below" on win 98 CD-ROM cannot be found. These are:
'dhcpsvc.dll'
'icmp.dll'
'IENPSTUB'
'inetmib1.dll'
Plus many more missing files when the setup reaches the stage of setting the hardware and searching for PnP stuff..

On the other system i get blue screen fatal error message as follows:
A fatal exception OE has occured at 0167:BFF9DFFF. The current application will be terminated. Hit any key etc...
As soon a you ' hit a key' the following message opens: Runonce caused an invalid page fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0002:000078bc.

I have used 2 copies on Win 98, but get the same things http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Sounds like you might need to double check your memory stick as it might be bad or dirty contacts. You might also want to try installing the OS with the cpu underclocked or at stock speed instead of Overclocked

I don't know what hardware these files related to, but maybe a sound card, video, or other hardware. when you are up and running have you checked to see if any ?? in the control panel/system. usually when i recieved these errors it is because it is looking for a drive file for the vidio, sound,or modem. I also have trouble at this point trying to access the cdrom off the Z: drive. windows seems to lose track of it. did you copy win98 to the c:drive and run setup from there. good luck

Sounds to me like BGB is on the right track. It may actually be looking for files from another source, 'as in' a driver disk for any one of your cards.
