I can say this from experience, since I have an AMD K6-2 400 system and a Celeron 400 system. The Celeron outperforms the AMD K6-2 at equal clock speeds, period. The Celeron may also be a bit cheaper, not sure about that though. Interrogator gruven 03-16-1999, 08:55 PM Yeah...have to agree with Interrogator.... I'd definately go with the Celeron. I used to build ALOT of AD systems...but now the Celerons just plain outperform them. But it all depends on what your gonna do i guess.....K6's actually do better in Winstone tests....which is business apps....word, wordperfect, excel, that type of stuff. But it can't keep up in FPU's. So if you plan on playing games or running any 3D apps...go Celeron. It's cache runs at full processor speed so it actually almost keeps up with P-II's...and sometimes even faster....because of the overclockability. it might even better for you to go with a 300A since you should get that to run at 450 no problem..MIGHT get the 400 to 500....but not as likely...and with the price diference......like about 70 bucks for the 300A right now. Well...good luck gruven SysOpt.com
