Hi.
Im about to buy a fireball kx hd. Its udma66 but my motherboard its udma33 (AX59PRO). It will work?. I want to upgrade it later.

If the answer is no..
Which 5400/7200 rpm and udma33 drive its cheap and good?
I mostly use winNT high end apps.

Thanx in advance.

Later on you can add a pci adapter to get the 66 performance if you have a slot available. The real advantage to this is up to 8 ide devices, 4 on the mobo and 4 from the card!

From what I've read about ATA66 drives, I keep seeing conflicting reports on whether or not using a utility is necessary because ATA66 drives are backwards compatible and should default to Ultra ATA33.

I found some detailed info at Quantums site
www.quantum.com/app_notes/award_ata66.htm (http://www.quantum.com/app_notes/award_ata66.htm) that I thought was quite useful.
