I have a message at boot up that mssp.vxd is not there. When I push space it goes away, but I would like to get this resolved.

Also, Win 2000 will not boot up because I have ) in device manager 2 problems. (1)? PCI mass storage controller under and ? color flat bed scanner.

What can I do to clear these up.

Thanks for the help!

Okay. I have no practical experience with Doze2000. I run Doze98. Now, if that happened to me in 98, I'd remove the offending device in the device manager. Then, I'd reboot. Windoze would find it and re-install it. This might require my installation disk(s), and/or Windoze disk.

So, take that for what it's worth, but 2000 is also a plug-n-play O/S, so it will find it.

Good Luck, Dude!

The ? marks on the PCI Mass Storage controller is for the ATA66 controllers as Win2K doesnt have built-in drivers for them you will have to install them manually. The other is again because Win2K doesnt have built-in drivers for your scanner (very few scanners work with win2K at this time!) I would suggest booting up win2K in safe mode and disabling the scanner and installing the drivers for the ata66 controllers.

As for the mssp.vxd file use the SFC (system file checker) to replace or repair that file and then reboot

When you install Personal Web Server, references to the Filesec.vxd and Mssp.vxd
files are added to the registry. However, these files are only installed on your
computer if a Microsoft network client is currently installed or has ever been
installed. If you remove a Microsoft network client using the Network tool, the
Filesec.vxd and Mssp.vxd files are not removed.
