I am looking to upgrade my monitor from my current TTX 17" .28 monitor. I am considering the following:
Otiquest (by Viewsonic) V95 19" .26
Viewsonic E790 19" .26
Samsung 900p 19" .26
The Optiquest and Viewsonic can be had for the same price, and the Samsung is $70 Cdn. cheaper.
I am also considering just sticking with a 17" monitor but moving to a Sony (220GS .25) which is still more money than all of these 19".
If anyone has any experience with any of these please tell me about it.
Thanks
Nathan

The E790 has some good refresh rates.

Can't find any info on the other.
The 220 GS doesn't have that high of refresh rates. So you might get a little eye strain from it.

The Samsung seems to be good with the refresh rates.

Make sure your video card will support at least those rates too.

I recently moved to the Samsung 900p from a CTX PR711 (17" .25), because my DVD movies were unimpressive on the 17" monitor. The 19" is okay, but if I were a practical person I ought to have stayed with the PR711 (my dad has it now). The flatter screen, high refresh rates, and smaller dot pitch were really kind on the eyes... with the present monitor I've noticed a lot more eye strain.
The Samsung $50 rebate on the 900p goes till the end of this month, I think. I got the Gateway SpotShop deal with free shipping(limited to U.S.?) that DrDeath tipped us off to in "Steals and Deals" a month ago.
***end of advice, start of anecdote***
I have a sad story about this rebate, though. I was very pleased because with rebate the 19" was much cheaper than the 17" I had bought at Multiwave. It arrived promptly at my office, and I got a friend to help me load it into my car. Unfortunately, it wouldn't fit unless we took it out of the box. Well, you can guess what happened next. I went home with the monitor and came into work the next Monday... box was gone! I spent a wretched half hour grovelling in the dumpster where recycled cardboard is thrown, but only managed to drop my building key in the stagnant water on the bottom of the dumpster.
A low point for my dignity.
I called up Samsung, and they were very unsympathetic... no UPC symbol, no money! So the moral is: save that box! if you go for the 900p.
Later edit:
Wow, Helman is on the ball! Not only did he reply to my mail within twelve hours, but see below!
So I will give Samsung a thumbs up for service after all... even if I stick to my assertion that higher refresh rates do make a difference.

Now that's customer service isn't it? Makes you want to go out and buy one doesn't it?

I did! I just got my Samsung SyncMaster 950p.
Nice monitor, I had a KDS V195 for 1 day but took it back, this 950p is much higher quality for the same price.
