Here is the situation:
I was having some major display probs. so after some trial and error I got my six month monitor replaced on warranty. I guess they said that, "the microprocessor sounds like it was bad". I got my new monitor and everything seems ok.

BUT I AM WORRIED.

I have noticed some minor glitches with the new monitor. I have had to adjust the size and center of the screen several times. I don't know if it's all in my head or not but

I DON'T WANT TO KILL MY NEW MONITOR!!!

Could I have a problem with other hardware that could slowly be killing my monitor?

Could it be my monitor isn't getting enough power?

I am VERY WORRIED! My monitor comp (ARGON) was really nice about replacing it the first time. I don't want to have to do it again.

Please help me before I kill again!

The only way I've ever seen a monitor damaged by the computer was when the refresh rate was set too high. I killed my best 14" one that way.
Make sure you're rate is not higher than the monitor's max setting.

Yeah, check the manual. Most monitors come with this tiny little gratuitous manual. But, it will give you the specs on it.

Shoot, my POS AOC Spectrum5E will only go to like 60hz when using a 1024x768 resolution! What a POS! Heck, at 800x600, it'll only go to 85hz! So, hopefully you've got better specs than I do...

You didn't mention what video card you have...

I have an ATI All in Wonder 128 and once in a while when I boot into windows, the size and positioning is off. Another reboot solves the problem, but I do know that I need to get some updated drivers.

Try updating your drivers.

Check the video cache in your CMOS. My Voodoo3 2000 doesn't like this at all. I had the same problem plus when I switched resolutions on the fly, the screen was completely screwed up.

If you do kill it, remember it's on video. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
