Uh, what OS and what browser? If it is Netscape and Windows, then you need to properly uninstall Netscape then re install it.

ram-
it is not unusual that when you get an "error" that your systray icons disappear...

generally speaking, if Explorer is restarted (closed down internally), then all Explorer-based proggies shut down... this includes the system file that makes the connection icon display...

now, if you have a non Explorer-based proggie (i.e. NZ download demon), it may still stay in the systray, while the others disappear...

to "fix" this (short of restarting the puter), you can just use the log off option (if this is enabled on your pewter) and then just log back in...

this restarts Explorer.exe and then the puter is happy (temporarily)...

but just note that restarting is better on the puter, so i'd just reccomend doing that if it happens again (unless you have an app that you "can't" close http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif)...

well, i hope that i could further inform you of what happened...

anywayz...

You're welcome Ram, What I do on questions of this nature is minimize the sysopt window and open a new ie window and go to MS.. Search for the item in question then copy and paste the url and the directions to sysopt... thats it.., btw, alien has a point, the new dun for 95/98 sometimes corrects issues with different isp's.. see ya, DrVette
