Just got my A+, woohooo. Now I want to start working on metworking certs and i'm not sure where to start. Is the network+ necessary? I'm thinking about doing it because i think it will be a good warm up for Networking Essentials, and it will give me another letter after my name /forum/smile.gif
any comments appreciated--thanks

Congratulations! Believe me I know the feeling. I am studying for the Network+ and will also begining MCSE study course after that.
The Network+ is a new certification (this year) and is not a recognized standard yet - it may never be, only time will tell. But I figure "why not?" One small step at a time a build your confidence along the way - learning these networking basics should provide a good foundation for many aspects of the MCSE.
I plan to take the Network+ in Feb or March - got to use that voucher Comptia sent with the A+ Certificate.

Hey what are the vouchers for exactly? I had my A+ cert papers sent home so I didn't get to look through it yet. My mom wasn't impressed with the look of the certificate itself though.

The voucher gives you a discount on a Comptia test.
