Does anyone know how to keep SysShield from disconnecting from the internet after a couple minutes of idle? For example, it will disconnect when typing things like this.

I like this firwall!!! But if it disconnects me, maybe it ain't worth it!!!

Apostle,

All you need to do is go into the configuration menue and from there you can set the default time for a disconnect. Change it to something like 300 sec's (5 minutes or even more if you want). I'm glad you so far have liked my suggestion about syshield. It is very inexpensive to buy after the 30 day trial has expired.

Mntsnow,

I do not see a 'configuration' anywhere in syshield. Could you point out where it is? All i see is a settings, and under that nothing about disconnect. As I am not the brightest star in the sky, Please by as specific as you can!

Apostle, Unfortuantly I am now at work and dont have syshield here. (I actually Use SYGATE at home as I use it for connection sharing for my network as well as firewall protection)

Update. Since I use sygate at home I just download SYshield on to my computer here at work and you are correct there is not a setting for auto-disconnect. (thus I would have to suggest that you double check your settings for your connection to the internet. (if you are using a dial-up modem or dial-up ISDN line you will have settings in your "dial-up" networking that you can set for when it should autodisconnect when a period of inactivity has passed) Or you can upgrade to SYGATE and then I would be able to help you more. You might also check their website for FAQ's or shoot them an email.
