Target 03-02-2000, 11:41 PM If you have both the bios and the windows power mgmt setup to allow your HD to enter "sleep" or power-down mode after a set time, then I would guess that the reason its not doing so is because the drive is in use. I could be way off base, but doesn't the power mgmt timer begin after the last disk access is performed? Meaning, that if you or some other software keep accessing programs/data on the disk, then the counter is continually being reset to zero and the power-down countdown begins again, which would give the illusion that it never enters sleep mode. ck42866 03-03-2000, 06:37 AM Ok, could it be because I have recently purchased a Cable modem and for the most part I leave it on all the time? Also, is it OK to have the hardrive on all the time? [This message has been edited by ck42866 (edited 03-03-2000).] SysOpt.com
