What is the diff between generic ram and "High end ram"? What makes generic ram generic? Why will it not work on generic mobo's? Help me with my confusion!

Ram is classigfied "generic" when they use a peice of PCB that costs them $2 and works just as well as if they used a $20 name brand PCB. They often too use several brands of chips on the same peice, and they rarely have all the stuff in DIMMID. They work just as well, and I am very happy with mine. Also, there is a big price difference.

The generic in my system is the best I have ever used, beat the **** out of the micron I bought when I first went to PC100.

I have generic and Micron memory right now, running together.
The only time when it might become an issue is if you have a picky mb. I bought a chaintech motherboard because from reviews I read, it is supposed to be compatible with just about any memory there is. Of course, it didn't work for me. So I bought some micron memory, and it worked fine.
But then I got a different mb anyway, so it really didn't matter.
