I have built many PC's in the past, learning all the time. However, this problem has me stumped, and PC Chips do not want to help!

I have two M599LMR motherboards, both bought new from different suppliers - one in the USA one in the UK.

Neither will work! The boards just will not boot. I have cleared the cMOS - but nothing! No monitor display (not even a 'flash'), no RAM checking no anything!

I have confirmed the functioning of every single other component in other PC's - all work. I havtried different processors, different RAM, different Power supplies. Nothing!

So, anyone out there have any ideas? I must be missing something very obvious!

i have the same piece of junk....
my problems are this:
video does not always init on boot
nic does not network at all

as to your not booting problem..the booklet says that the board comes with the cmos jumper set to clear, so they say that you have to move the jumper. i did so and no boot. put back to where it was when i got it, and i had a booting board....

Solved! After trying to contact PC Chips, no luck. So I managed to call Fry's Electronics where I bought one of the boards.

Seems like this is a known problem with the boards (poor manufacture) - many returned. Solution was basic & simple. The DIMM do not fit the sockets properly. Therefore, you have to cross your fingers and push the DIMM card VERY hard. Suddenly, it clicked (sounds like the Mobo is breaking) and the DIMM is very firmly secured. The board then booted first time. Frigntening though - thought the Mobo was going to snap!

Be aware, these same sockets are fitted to other PC Chips boards - morale - do not buy this board - manufacturing quality is poor!

the answer is put the DIMMS in before you put the board in the case.

Yes I witnessed an M571 PcChips board crack in two while a friend was trying to add memory to it
